While you’re busy choosing your perfect Summer Fixe, we’ll share with you the perfect wine to pair with each meal. Today, we’re pairing Chicken Milanese with Montes Classic Cabernet Sauvignon.

Ok, we know the first key to successfully pairing the right wine with your meal is that you don’t want one to overwhelm the other. Most people might think that since this is a chicken dish, you should pair it with white wine. Believe it or not, that is not necessarily always the case. Chicken is a lighter meat but because our Milanese is breaded, it’s on the richer side. The pomodoro sauces adds a hint of sweetness, acidity and intensity to the dish. In this case, Cabernet Sauvignon works beautifully, adding another dimension of favor without taking away from the Chicken Milanese. We recommend pairing it with Montes Classic Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes: “Intense ruby-red color. The nose has layer upon layer of caramel, cinnamon and candy with hints of mint, but without any dominance of oak. A spicy, full-flavored wine, with good body, fruit and firm tannins and an engaging strong finish.” (Via Montes Wines)

BONUS: Watch Aurelio Montes, Head Winemaker of Motes Wines describe the Classic Cabernet Sauvignon. It sounds like he would pair it with our Chicken Milanese too!
